Once upon a time, there was a girl who couldn't stop daydreaming.
She was a little odd. She believed her cats were guardians in disguise and that her dog understood every word she said. Her imaginary friends were spirits from another realm, trapped until she discovered the right language to free them. Earth wasn’t her true home (she was born on a faraway planet with endless forests and a purple sky), and her grandmother’s cluttered attic was a secret gateway to another world. She also had the weirdest feeling that her movements impacted the supernatural—so if she turned a circle before leaving a room, she couldn’t return until she’d spun in the opposite direction.
See what I mean? Odd.
Her daydreams were a bit out of the ordinary as well. She longed to communicate telepathically with animals, jump back and forth in time, be the first to make contact with an alien species, and move solid objects with her mind. Not once did she consider these things out of the realm of possibility, even when people teased her for having an overactive imagination. She wrote down her ideas and believed in them with all her heart.

As you’ve probably guessed, that odd little girl is me. I’m all grown up now (well, mostly) and have a pretty good grip on reality. I'm a wife and mother, and I have quite a few responsibilities. But I haven't outgrown the daydreaming or the longing to express my ideas in a more permanent fashion. I still feel that many of them are within reach—you know, when we finally run into aliens who can teach us how to use 100 percent of our brain capacity—but until then, I’m going to write them down and share them with the world. That way, no one will be surprised when one of them comes to pass. :)
And I’m blessed to have some amazing people helping along the way! The incredibly talented crew at REUTS Publications has worked hard to bring GAMBIT to life. I love them for being the awesome people they are and for being crazy enough to believe in my work. To showcase that work, the brilliant team at Bizango designed this website (beautiful, isn’t it?) and created the perfect hub for my writing/publishing wheel. I can’t thank them enough for their spectacular efforts.
Yes, there will be some writing and book stuff out here. But this site will also be a place for dreams and ideas. That odd little girl asked a lot of questions, and her daydreams were a way of working out the answers. She cherished them and held them dear to her heart.
So if you want a glimpse of my heart, stop by any time. You’ll always be welcome.
