Hello! Hope you're all having an awesome Monday...and a spooktacular Halloween. Mine's been pretty intense so far, thanks to the Syfy channel. Their movie lineup is giving me chills! I've had at least three jump scares already. Between that and the coffee, I'm a little jittery.

But I'm also excited. November starts tomorrow, and so does NaNoWriMo. It's supposed to be a period of uninhibited writing for authors who want to compose an entire novel in one month. While that's a tempting idea, I'm actually planning to harness that time for working on the Gambit sequel.

Not that I haven't been working on it all this time. I have...and it's been fun. There are just a lot of distractions going on that weren't around when I wrote the first book. Most of them have to do with marketing, social media, book blitzes, and house renovations or showings. Plus I've been focusing a lot of attention on the INFJ Cafe blog (and its fan page); with new features and a redesign, it needed some extra tending to accommodate increased traffic and growth.

Now that things are leveling off, though, I want to get back into the sequel. Deeply. I want some dedicated time to focus on the details, the history, and my initial love for the story. The worst thing about distractions is the loss of momentum they cause. It's frustrating to feel an intense desire for creation deep in your soul and have it stifled, over and over again, by other responsibilities.

So next month is all about the sequel. No book blitzes, no Cafe posts, and minimal interaction on social media (unless it's about the sequel). I'm prepped with candles, a new gaming chair for writing by the fire, coffee, and Werther's candies (lol, if you know me at all, this is vital). My firewood racks are full to the brim, and so is my heart. The goal is to get my momentum back...free and uninhibited and strong enough to help me see this series through.

I think Willow deserves it.
